Data and IP

Big Dog

Will our data train someone else's AI?

No. The AI is Claude on Amazon Bedrock. AWS states your content is not used to improve the base models or shared with any model provider. It runs in your own cloud account, not ours.

Big Dog

Do we end up leasing back our own know-how?

No. Everything we build lives in an account you own and pay for. Stop working with us and you keep all of it.

Our answerOwnerEngineer
Big Dog

Where does our data live?

In your own cloud account, processed in the AWS regions we set for you. We read from where your files already are, like SharePoint and email.

Our answerITOwner
Big Dog

Who can get in?

You, and us only through an access role you grant. Every action we take is logged. You can remove us with one click.

Our answerIT
Big Dog

Is it encrypted?

Yes, in transit and at rest, with a key held in your account. Revoke the key and the data is unreadable to everyone, us included.

Our answerIT
Big Dog

Do we have to hand over everything to start?

No. We sign your NDA before we see anything. For the audit you can send samples with your rates blacked out.

Our answerOwnerFinance
Big Dog

Do crew messages go anywhere else?

Yes, and we say it plainly. WhatsApp messages pass through Meta and the messaging provider on the way in. Once they land, they live in your account.

Our answerITSuperintendent
Big Dog

What can the AI reach on its own?

Only what you grant. You set the access and can change or remove it any time. A person approves every draft before it goes out.

Money

Big Dog

What does it cost?

A fixed fee for each step, not per seat, agreed before the step starts. What you pay up front is credited toward the retainer. We share numbers on a call, not on a website.

Our answerFinanceOwner
Big Dog

We were quoted a lot more elsewhere. Why is this different?

You commit to the audit first, nothing more. Cloud usage runs on your own bill, so nothing is hidden. You decide after each step.

Our answerFinance
Big Dog

How do we know it pays back?

The audit puts hours and dollars on three activities from your own numbers. The proof of concept measures them on your own data. You decide from results.

Our answerFinanceOwner
Big Dog

What if we stop paying?

It keeps running in your account. You own it.

Our answerOwner

What we already have

Big Dog

We already use a general AI assistant.

Good, keep it. Ours knows your reports, your jobs and the way you work, and it does the repeat work, like matching the daily to the invoice. Not just search.

Our answerITOwner
Big Dog

We already have software for that.

We do not replace it. We connect to it so nobody types the same number twice. If a tool you own already covers the job, the audit says so.

Our answerOwnerSuperintendent
Big Dog

We tried AI. Some of it flopped.

Common. Most AI never gets wired into the business. The audit finds the few places where it pays and skips the rest. You see that list before anything is built.

Our answerOwner

People and the field

Big Dog

Our crews will not use a new app.

They do not have to. A voice note, a photo of the paper sheet or a text, same as now.

Our answerSuperintendentSafety
Big Dog

Is this replacing my people?

No. Your people stop retyping and start checking. They get their time back for work that needs judgment. Nobody gets cut.

Our answerOwnerSuperintendent
Big Dog

We are too busy right now.

That is usually the reason to start. The audit needs one project's documents and a few short interviews.

Our answerOwner
Big Dog

We are small.

Small is fine. If we do not see a fit, we tell you on the first call.

Our answerOwner
Big Dog

We are a consultancy, not a contractor.

Same problem, different paper. Inspection reports, proposals and timesheets are where your hours go. That is what we find and fix.

Our answerEngineer

Big Dog

Why would mining people do AI?

Because we wrote the daily reports. Dan is a Virginia Tech mining engineer who spent ten years underground in Australia, the United States and Colombia. Ben spent twenty years in heavy civil, underground and mining. 30+ years combined.

Our answerOwner
Big Dog

Who else uses it?

We run our own companies on it, and we are building it with an underground mining contractor now. We do not name clients, the same way we would not name you. We show you the system on made-up data first.

Our answerOwnerFinance
Big Dog

We got burned by a vendor before.

That is why we do not sell you a software license. You commit to the audit only, you own what we build, and you see what it finds first.

Our answerOwner
Big Dog

What if you disappear?

It runs in your own account, so it keeps running. Lock us out and it stays yours.

Our answerOwnerIT
Big Dog

IT needs to sign off.

Bring them in. We walk them through the access role, the key you hold and the log of everything we do.
